Bethesda Softwork indirectly announced that a, then, next-gen version of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim was in the works, but that project was put on hold so they could put as much man-power into Fallout 4 development as possible. Well, it’s been a few weeks since the game went gold so the development team may have returned to the original project; a current-gen Skyrim.

There have been many little slips and leaks to suggest that a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim were always on the cards. Everything from well renowned retailers listing current-gen versions of Skyrim for pre-order to Bethesda Softworks actually sticking the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One logos on the official Skyrim website.

Though Bethesda claim that the current-gen port of Skyrim was merely an exercise to help the development team for Fallout 4 better understand the new hardware, they, refuse to completely deny that there is a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the game on its way.

There is a working out there and I am sure that Bethesda wont just throw that work away and complete the development and release it to the public for a little extra cash (I’d definitely buy it!).  So, once the dust settles from the Fallout 4 launch, there is a chance we could hear more on this secret Skyrim project. The question is, would you buy it for your Xbox One and/or PlayStation 4?
