Microsoft Reportedly Banned GTA Online Exploiters Featured

Written by

Earlier this weekend WikiGameGuides posted a video showing people how to use an exploit that could earn people millions within minutes. Now, people are reporting that some players who excessively abused this bug are being banned.

An exploit that allowed you to sell your personal motorcycle repeatedly for up to 33, 500 each time meant that some people had earned over 1 billion Grand Theft Auto Online dollars in just one day rendering the in-game economy useless.

There have been some concerned cases of large banwaves in Grand Theft Auto Online exclusively on the Xbox 360 game console and it seems very likely that the people who benefited the most from this exploit were targeted.

Though unconfirmed, one person who claims to be victim of the ban hammer allegedly called the Rockstar Support team and their response was something like...
"We're aware of the issue and until we can fix it, we'll ban anyone with a history of abusing this design flaw. It will ruin others' enjoyment by disbalancing the economy that's vital to the Online experience. We're in discussion with Microsoft, too, to escalate these bans from online privileges to user accounts as a statement against these antics. We don't expect any outrage from the law-abiding playerbase who haven't devalued others' items and hard-work with an exploit - these the customers we are proud to help."
Whether or not these claims are true, one thing is certain; something needs to be done. With thousands upon thousands of people now billionaires in Grand Theft Auto Online, the game is really unbalanced. Does this call for a full reset?

Grand Theft Auto V is available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 from ShopTo.net for only £42.85. Despite the game's flaws, it is a lot fun. Go buy it now, they ship international!
