Sony Need To Remove Twitch Feature From PlayRoom Featured

Written by

The integration of Twitch TV streaming into next-generation consoles is genius. However, some people are abusing this new feature in hopes of getting their 15 minutes of fame. Maybe that would be fine, if they didn't use Twitch TV and hog bandwidth from the real gamers who like to stream.

The biggest problem with the PlayStation 4's Twitch feature is that you can use it with PlayRoom. So far we've seen some really crazy things on Twitch which have absolutely nothing to do with gaming. To name a few; girls twerking, people getting wasted, meth heads doing their thing, stoners smoking weed, and one person undressed his passed-out wife in front of a live audience.

This kind of exposure is not good for Sony nor Twitch TV, and something must be done to prevent this feature for being abused like this in the future. The only sensible option is for Sony to remove the Twitch TV stream feature from the PlayRoom--it is pointless to have that feature available in that game--people are using to broadcast their own local-cable styled "shows".

Twitch TV is now flooded with people trying to run their own shows, which of course have nothing to do with gaming. Talk, radio, and reality TV shows, everything but gaming. This is getting a bit out of hand.

We've contacted Twitch and Sony to get a comment on their stance in this. We will keep you updated.
