What we've seen so far of Injustice: Gods Among Us leaves us itching to get our hands on the game, but it isn't just the seamless fighting mechanics that leave us wanting... it's the story. This isn't your stereotypical battle of good versus evil, so to speak, this is Batman versus Superman. Tyrant against God, one might say. Furthermore, NetherRealm are attempting to level the playing field by explaining how Batman could possible fight Superman; something that the producers of the up-coming Justice League film might want to take note of.
Just give you a taste of how awesome the story might turn out, it starts with the destruction of Metropolis and the deaths of Superman's wife Lois Lane, their unborn child, and his best friend Jimmy Olsen. It only gets better... it was the The Joker who brought this chaos on Superman. Superman then establishes a new world order, causing heroes to stand in against each other. A war of many worlds ensues between the forces of Superman's regime and those allied with Batman's rebellion.
Have NetherRealm Studios managed to take the most recognized and beloved super-hero of our time and turn him into a villain? It kind of sounds like it, and I sure hope they do. Regardless, Injustice: Gods Among Us' story has already sold me. I cannot wait to see how this war is going to end.
